The Cuban beach volleyball pair of Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo stormed into the finals of the Russian League today after delivering spectacular performances in both the quarterfinals and semifinals.
In their first match of the day, Díaz and Alayo dominated Russian duo Valeriy Samoday (Myskiv) and Taras Sivolap with decisive scores of 21-15 and 25-23. Later, in a thrilling semifinal, the Cubans staged an impressive comeback against local favorites Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Aleksandr Reinson of Moscow’s Dinamo, securing a hard-fought victory with scores of 17-21, 21-13, and 15-12.
With this double triumph in Moscow, the Cuban duo has reaffirmed their strong form this season, earning them an invitation to compete in Russia’s professional circuit. Their advancement to Sunday’s final marks a historic milestone, as they are the first non-European pair to reach this stage in the tournament.
