Two more gold medals for Cuba at Pan American Wrestling Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (ACN) Cuban Greco-Roman wrestlers Yosvanys Peña (77 kilograms (kg)) and Daniel Gregorich (87 kg) won the gold medal at the Pan American Wrestling Championship hosted by Acapulco, Mexico, until next Sunday, May 8.
Both wrestlers won three bouts on their way to the title in their respective divisions, to conclude the performance of the exponents of the classical modality with three golds and one silver.
In the 77 kg final, Peña defeated David Elías Choc, from Guatemala, 7-2, to complete his good performance in this tournament.
The Cuban wrestler debuted in the quarterfinal round with a 3-0 success against Mexican Emmanuel Alexis Benitez, and in the semifinals he defeated American Ravaughn Richard Ravelle 4-1.
In the case of Gregorich, he defeated Johan Antonio Batista of the Dominican Republic 9-0 by technical superiority (ST) to win his weight title.
Previously he won 9-0 by ST against Brazilian Andres Luiz Ramos in his first presentation, and then triumphed 3-1 against Mexican Alfonso Antonio Leyva, according to the official website of the World Wrestling Union.
