Russia's daily Covid-19 cases exceed 12,000 for the first time

Moscow, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) The operational health center for Covid-19 control in Russia on Saturday reported that coronavirus infection toll rose to over 12,000 cases per day, a figure that had not been reported since April 10.

“12,248 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, and 43 deaths,” the health entity detailed on Telegram.

According to the report, Russia reported as many as 6,209 recoveries in just one day, 33% more than on July 29.

Likewise, experts said that over 1,600 people were hospitalized (5.2% less than on Friday). The hospitalization toll lowed in 37 regions and rose in 39.

On July 1, Russia announced the suspension of all Covid-19 restrictions, including wearing facemask; however, it warned it would apply new regulations if necessary.
