Pinar del Río, Oct 6 (Prensa Latina) The president of the National Assembly of People's Power (Cuban parliament), Esteban Lazo, checks today the recovery after damages suffered in the western province of Pinar del Río, the most affected by the hurricane Ian.

Since last Monday, parliamentarians headed by the legislative secretary, Homero Acosta, has toured the municipalities of San Juan y Martínez, Consolación del Sur, San Luis, Viñales, La Palma and Pinar del Río.

In those territories they exchanged criteria with the population and listened to their concerns, as well as with delegates and other government authorities in those instances, while promoting measures in support of recovery.

Lazo also expressed admiration for the work of a brigade of electrical workers from the central province of Villa Clara who are working to restore this service in Consolación del Sur.

One of the members of that group assured him that “we came here to work and we will not return until the municipality has electricity.”
