First Shipment of Chinese-Produced Aspirin Arrives in Cuba
As part of the strategy to guarantee the population's access to essential medicines, Cuba has received the first shipment of 81-milligram Aspirin produced in the People's Republic of China through a bilateral cooperation project.

The medication, intended to meet the demand of the Basic Drug List, is the result of an evaluation and technology transfer process conducted by the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment, and Medical Devices (Cecmed) between Cuba's Medsol Laboratories and the plant of the Chinese company Hubei C&C in Wuhan.

Innovative and Sustainable Cooperation Model
This milestone consolidates an innovative cooperation model that combines the productive capacity of Hubei C&C—a strategic partner of Cuba's National Center for Scientific Research (CNIC)—with a sustainable financing mechanism.

This mechanism utilizes a portion of the profits generated by sales of PPG, the flagship product of the involved Cuban entity, to ensure the stable supply of this key medication for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Distribution to National Healthcare Network Begins
With the arrival of these initial batches, their unloading and subsequent distribution to the national network of hospital institutions and pharmacies began immediately. It is projected that this collaboration will fully cover, by 2026, the demand for 81 mg Aspirin required by Cuba's Ministry of Public Health.

The action reinforces the efforts of the BioCubaFarma business group and its companies to ensure the supply of vital medicines for the population, through international alliances based on complementarity and sustainability.
