President Miguel Díaz-Canel today greeted World Wildlife Day and highlighted the opportunity to celebrate the beauty and variety of Cuba's flora and fauna.

In his profile on the social network, he also pointed out that with the entry into force of the Law of the System of Natural Resources and the Environment and a solid National System of Protected Areas, Cuba focuses on determining other conservation measures based on areas, a global trend for the wildlife protection.

The celebration, proclaimed in 2013 by the United Nations, recognizes the unique functions of flora and fauna and their contributions to people and the planet.

This year’s theme is exploring digital innovation in wildlife conservation.
