The Havana cultural institution Casa de las Américas invites today to the Café ArteAmérica, dedicated to the presence of political humour in the Colección Arte de Nuestra América Haydee Santamaría and in homage to Dr. Adelaida de Juan.
The event will be held in the Manuel Galich Hall and will be attended by the storyteller and scholar of Cuban humour Laidi Fernández de Juan, according to a Facebook post by the organisation’s president, Abel Prieto.
In his profile on that social network, the intellectual also invited people to enjoy the opening of the exhibition «El humor político en la colección Arte de Nuestra América Haydee Santamaría» (Political humour in the Haydee Santamaría Art of Our America collection), at the Galería Latinoamericana.
The Arte de Nuestra América Haydee Santamaría collection houses a visual heritage made up of more than 10,000 works, thanks to a constant concern for the visual arts, and the donation of artists, collectors and institutions.
Part of this collection is permanently exhibited, both in the halls of the Casa de las Américas central building and in the Haydee Santamaría and Mariano galleries.
