Luanda, March 28 (RHC)-- The Political Bureau of the  Central Committee of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola, MPLA, sent a condolence message to the Cuban people on the passing of Retired  Brigadier General Rafael Moracen Limonta.

"Born on an agricultural farm in Santiago de Cuba on February 5, 1939, General Rafael Moracén Limonta, who joined Angolan revolutionaries engaged in the struggle against the Portuguese colonial regime in the 1960s of the 20th century, embodied like few others the sense of brotherhood among peoples committed to freedom," the message read.

According to the Jornal da Angola, the MPLA's message also recalled that Moracén "formed many brave Angolan fighters, winning for his bravery, delivery, and love for the homeland of Agostinho Neto, the Angolan nationality, also becoming a general officer of the Angolan Army, despite also being a general, in the Cuban Army.

"In this moment of pain and mourning, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, on behalf of the militants, sympathizers, and friends of MPLA, bows before the very worthy memory of General Rafael Moracén Limonta and presents to the brother people of Cuba, in particular to the family of the deceased, heartfelt condolences.
