The Mexican band Los Tigres del Norte urged US President Donald Trump this Thursday to take "a more open path for the good of all" who reside in the United States.

"May (Trump) open his heart and remember that his ancestors also arrived as migrants to the United States. And I believe a president should have a heart for all races, not just for white people," they told EFE during their appearance on the red carpet of the Latin Grammy awards, which are being held this Thursday in Las Vegas.

"A president should have a heart for everyone, not just for those in his party, but for everyone. Even if they didn't vote for him, by doing something for everyone else, he could win the vote" of the rest, they added.

Music as a Unifying Force

Also, Mexican musician Marco Antonio Solís, who has collaborated with stars such as Colombian artist Karol G, told EFE that music, in his opinion, "is a language that unites us, that heals us, that mends us, that helps us reflect and always helps us. It is a great shelter in difficult times."

The main gala will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas starting at 5:00 p.m. local time (1:00 GMT on Friday). The event will be hosted by actress Roselyn Sánchez and Colombian singer Maluma.
