The calendar of events for Cuba in 2026 was presented today in Varadero by the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) as an opportunity to strengthen ties and foster collaboration between institutions.
In accordance with Decree 90 of 2023, Mintur is the governing body for national and international events in the country. Consequently, institutions such as Culture, Education, and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment disclosed the most important gatherings they will develop next year.
In a difficult context but without relinquishing the opportunity for exchange, the list includes the International Tourism Fair (FitCuba), the University Congress, and the International Ballet Festival, among others.
Yanet de Armas, head of the events department at Mintur, stated that MICE tourism fosters the exchange of knowledge and projects the country's image in international scenarios. "Each event organized on the island is an opportunity to showcase our capabilities, hospitality, and security," she noted.
The executive explained that Mintur belongs to the main international associations that endorse the quality and professionalism of the sector. "By Cuba integrating organizations such as the International Congress and Convention Association, it facilitates the flow of knowledge and opportunities," emphasized the head of events. She added that they require strengthening infrastructure and diversifying themes, as well as incorporating technological solutions that bet on sustainability as a cross-cutting value.
International events such as Tourism and Nature (Turnat), Varadero Gourmet, or Fotosub are consolidating and attracting numerous participants.
The May Pilgrimage, the International Puppet Festival, Jazz Plaza, the Remedio Carnival, or the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema are iconic in the cultural sector and enjoy wide prestige worldwide.
