Holguin is crowned in final of National Boxing Series

Holguín didn't lose any bout and with 287 points was proclaimed champion for the first time in the final of the National Boxing Series, which ended today at the Rafael Fortún multipurpose hall, in this city.
In the intermediate poster of the seventh and last date, the combative boxing team from Holguin tied 40-40 with Guantanamo and reached a figure, unreachable for Camagüey, which tied 38-38 against Cienfuegos and totaled 271 units.
The southerners took third place (253). Behind them were Matanzas (226), Guantánamo (215), Pinar del Río (198), and Sancti Spíritus (146).
The honors in the northeastern list went to three fighters who won their four fights: the Santiago reinforcement Jesús Álvarez (48 kg), Raikol Leonard (75 kg), and Jorge Soto (80 kg).
On Sunday, Yunier Fábregas (51 kg), who reinforced Holguín and was proclaimed world youth champion in 2002, retired from active sport.
Julio Galloso (MTZ, 57 kg) and Rolando Martínez (GTM) were awarded the prize for the best fight of the event, while Keylor García (GTM, 75 kg) won the prize for the most technical boxer.
Olympic champion Erislandy Alvarez (CFG, 63.5 kg) was designated as the most combative boxer.
