Camagüey, Cuba, Mar 10 (Prensa Latina) The International Book Fair in this eastern city is dedicated today to Cuban poet Fina Garcia Marruz, who is in the center of debates at the Casino Campestre, the largest urban park in the country.
Precisely, the current edition of the International Book Fair is dedicated to the 100th birthday of one of the most outstanding Cuban intellectuals.
Maria Antonio Borroto, a writer and journalist from Camagüey and a defender of Garcia Marruz’s work, presided the debates among experts, readers, and lovers of the Cuban poet, who won the Reina Sofia Award for Ibero-American Poetry and Cuba’s National Literature Award. She passed away in June of 2022.
On Friday, the Fair also held a panel dedicated to Colombia and its literature, as that South American country is the guest of honor of this year’s event.
