Diaz-Canel highlights young Cuban athletes’ performances in Colombia

President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Saturday congratulated the Cuban athletes who are participating in the Cali-Valle 2021 Youth Pan-American Games, which are taking place in Colombia, for their outstanding performances.

Gold holds and jumps for Cuba. Congratulations champions, #CubaVive, the president wrote on his Twitter account.

On Friday, Cuba had won 26 titles and ranked fifth in the table of medals, after winning three other gold medals in wrestling and athletics.

The titles went to freestyle wrestler Osmany Diversent Martinez in the 57- kg division, freestyle wrestler Milaimys de la Caridad Marin (76 kg, women’s), and triple jumper Leyanis Perez Hernandez.
