The Association of Cuban Residents in Mexico maintains today its call to the international community and friends of the island to redouble their unconditional support to the Revolution of the Caribbean Island.

“To defend it is to defend the aspiration for social justice, full freedom and a better world,” the organization said in a statement in view of the inclusion of the Caribbean country in the unilateral list drawn up by Washington on nations that allegedly sponsor terrorism, once again.

A few days ago -recalled the group- our Association declared that we had to wait until January 20 to know the real scope of the announcement made by former President (Joe) Biden about the exclusion of the island from that list.

A few hours before being sworn in as the new president of that country, Donald Trump revoked on Monday the removal of Cuba from the list, thus setting his policy towards our country, he said.

He pointed out that the new ruler, committed to his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and the worst and most retrograde of the rancid right wing of South Florida, prolongs and announces that he will reinforce the policy of economic asphyxiation against an entire people that only defends its right to independence.

Secondly, “it shows us that this Presidency shamelessly demonstrates that this list is totally arbitrary and politicized, cynically used as an instrument to impose coercive sanctions against countries that do not follow its designs,” he warned.

Likewise, “he alerts us with his declarations and signatures of presidential orders that the fascist right wing will govern for four years in a dangerous manner for all of Our America and the world.”

Today, as we commemorate the launching of Operation Truth, he added, “we have to fight harder and relentlessly in the battle of ideas for the truth about Cuba, for the demand of the end of the criminal blockade, denouncing the hybrid war launched from Florida with the economic and cognitive war.”

In his opinion, the future of Cuba is “in emancipating ourselves by ourselves,” with our own efforts and in the pluricentric world that is consolidated with the Brics (group formed in its creation by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the cooperation with the countries of the South.
