Cuban Troubadour Ángel Quintero Died in Havana

Death finally won the fight against the prominent Cuban singer-songwriter Angel Quintero Díaz, who with his guitar and his voice confronted it with blows of love, optimism and songs during the last few years.

The Cuban Nueva Trova movement mourns "Angelito", as his friends called him and also the public, one of the essentials of that movement, of the batch that closely drank the wisdom of founders, who made that way of writing and singing songs his own, which he proudly turned into a principle of life.

Regarding his death, the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) expressed that "the Cuban Nueva Trova loses today one of its emblematic figures, the singer-songwriter Ángel Quintero. From the #UNEAC we say goodbye to «Angelito« iconic troubadour, with more than 40 years of artistic life and a particular way of singing and writing songs that became a principle of life."
