Arts and Literature Guide November at Cuba's Casa de las Américas

Music, literature, visual arts, and intellectual gatherings are featured on the agenda of the Havana-based institution Casa de las Américas for the month of November.
This Friday, the Manuel Galich Hall will host the conference “The Legacy of Fidel Castro: A Dialogue for Justice,” led by the intellectual and president of the institution, Abel Prieto. In the afternoon, the Espacio Sonoro event, held in collaboration with the National Electroacoustic Music Laboratory, is scheduled.
Focused on the electronic music movement in eastern Cuba, the gathering will feature Danilo Guerrero, Director of Musical Programs for Radio Holguín, as a guest.
According to the program, next Monday, the Manuel Galich Hall will host the presentation of the books Cortafuegos. Palabras que arden contra el fascismo and Amapolas rojas. Contra el genocidio en Gaza, published by Argentina's Acercándonos Ediciones.
Meanwhile, the Mariano Gallery will open its doors on November 13th for the inauguration of the popular Mexican art exhibition “Alebrijes, diablitos y otros seres fantásticos” (“Alebrijes, Little Devils, and Other Fantastic Beings”), featuring invited Cuban artist Kevin Oramas. The exhibition will remain open until January 26, 2026.
The following day, the Che Guevara Hall will host a concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Música Eterna Chamber Orchestra.
The visual arts will return to delight audiences on Monday the 24th with the opening of an exhibition by women printmakers from Boston, in collaboration with the Visual Arts Section of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (Uneac).
The exhibition will be open until next December 23rd on the second floor of the institution.
The presentation of the journal Conjunto No. 216-217 is scheduled for Thursday the 27th in the Manuel Galich Hall. Furthermore, on that day and the next, the Roberto Fernández Retamar Library will host the “Crear para Aprender. Moviendo la inclusión: Manos de papel” (“Create to Learn. Moving Inclusion: Paper Hands”) workshop, led by Professor Pavel Valdés.
