Havana, April 21 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel spoke Thursday with residents of the Reparto Eléctrico neighborhood in Havana, during a government tour to verify the socio-economic transformations in that community.

According to the Presidency of the Republic on its Twitter account, the president visited an elementary school, a doctor's office, a supermarket and a polyclinic, and then greeted dozens of local people.

In another moment of the fourth government visit to Havana, the head of state urged to guarantee quality in the production of construction materials in order to ensure the success of the transformations carried out in the communities.

Díaz-Canel visited the G'Obras Non-Agricultural Cooperative, which since 2015 has been manufacturing those high quality inputs with great acceptance among its customers.

According to official sources, the Economic and Social Strategy promoted by the country includes more than 1,400 actions in the neighborhoods and the protection of more than 400 nuclei of greater vulnerability.

The dignitary also visited the Research Center for Animal Improvement of Tropical Livestock, a scientific institution with national and international recognition for its contributions in the field of animal reproduction and genetics.

Likewise, he toured the mineral, invitro fertilization and embryo transfer laboratories where essential processes are carried out to guarantee technological solutions in animal reproduction and genetics.

On this day, and as part of the Government's tours, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz evaluated the impact of the measures to increase production and face the high prices.

During the exchanges with managers and representatives of several municipalities, he considered that the identification of citizens with the most vulnerable category is still a pending issue.

"We have to grow to solve the problems of more people, with revolutionary sensitivity because the people demand it," said Marrero Cruz.

This Thursday, the vice president, Salvador Valdés, as well as deputy prime ministers, heads of various portfolios and other members of the government visited places of interest in the capital of the country.
