Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel attended the 4th Patria International Colloquium, which concluded in Havana on Wednesday with the participation of some 400 delegates from nearly 50 countries.
After touring exhibition areas and speaking with prominent figures, academics, journalists, and communicators, the head of State went to the conference room at the University of Havana, where part of the program’s panels took place. The program opened on March 17.
The president listened to the lecture “Media Lessons from the Palestinian Genocide: Propaganda, Silencing, and Informational Resistance,” by Wafica Medhi, Latin America director of the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen.
The journalist described the horrors of Israel’s genocide, in which more than 46,000 people have died, most of them children, women, and the elderly.
The Middle East has become one of the most turbulent areas in the world since the creation of the Zionist entity, which, Wafica said, wants the Palestinians dead or displaced, while ignoring all United Nations resolutions on the cause of that Arab nation.
The expert noted that despite the assassinations of dozens of innocent Palestinians and Lebanese, the Israeli military has been unable to break the will and spirit of resistance of its people, who never submit to colonial dictates.
The world is facing the new Middle East as envisioned by Israel’s plan, which will generate more conflicts and new resistance, because the flag of resistance will never be lowered, she noted.
Western media are a tool to support the killing and destruction of the countries in the region, she asserted.
It’s about becoming media outlets for the state of war, reporting daily news as if bombs were falling, in addition to promoting unity among the revolutionary forces, she stated.
