Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia is arriving in Nicaragua Tuesday to participate in the central activity for the 44th anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution on July 19.

According to information provided to Prensa Latina by the Cuban Embassy in Managua, Gustavo Véliz, director of Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean department at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is accompanying Tapia on this visit.

The National Day activities in Nicaragua will include the participation of delegations from other nations, including Russia, Belarus, and Abkhazia, among other friendly countries.

The third and last armed Revolution in Latin America and the Caribbean triumphed in this country on July 19, 1979, followed before by that of Mexico in 1910 and Cuba in 1959.

With the victory of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, 45 years of destruction under the yoke of the Somoza military dictatorship came to an end.
