Havana, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Olympic medal winner Arlenis Sierra will reinforce the Movistar club of Spain in next cycling season, JIT digital website reported on Saturday.

According to the source, the best Cuban road cyclist signed a contract until 2023 with the Spanish club, one of nine teams with the highest category of the elite UCI Women's World Team.

Arlenis, fifth in the 2021 Flanders World Cup, will be the second Latin American to compete for the Movistar Club along with Colombia's Paula Patiño, thus completing her performance with the A. R. Monex, formerly Astana Women's.

At the top of the Latin American ranking, Sierra acknowledged in statements to 'JIT' the possibilities offered by the Spanish team for her career development and the work that will require racing alongside Dutch Annemiek van Vleutun, Tokyo 2020 Olympic runner-up, and Danish Enma Norsgaard.
