Rome, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) The 17th edition of the Friends of Partagás Meeting, a leading annual Cuban cigar festival, wound up in Matelica, in the Italian region of Marche.

In a note published on the event’s official website, Matelica’s mayor, Massimo Baldini, affirmed that “we renewed the bond of friendship and cooperation” between the two countries during the four days of activities.

Cuban Ambassador to Italy, Mirta Granda, stated that “the authorities of the Marche region and Matelica give prestige and support to the Friends of Partagás Meeting every year, recognizing the immense value of the Cuban cigars.

Francesco Acquaroli, president of the Marche Region, attended the ceremony along with Baldini and entrepreneur Francesco Minetti, president of the Don Alejandro Robaina Cigar Club and leading promoter of this initiative, which brings together more than 2,000 people from some 40 countries each year.

Tourism counselor Madelen Gonzalez-Pardo represented Cuba in this event. She promoted the Tobacco Route, a proposal through the main plantations and manufacturing centers of that product showing her country’s attractions as a tourist destination as part of the Cuba Única campaign.
