Cuba wins gold medal in Central American swimming relay

Cuba won the gold medal in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay in swimming for women, at the Central American and Caribbean Games hosted by this capital.

The quartet made up of Elisbet Gamez, Andrea Becali, Lorena González and Lauren Estrada covered the course in eight minutes, 10 seconds and 47 hundredths, to win the gold medal in the event.

In second position came the Mexicans Athena Meneses, Maria Mata, Maria Mendez and Karen Rodriguez in 8:17.58, while Thifany Murillo, Isabela Bedoya, Daniela Gutierrez and Karen Durango won the bronze for Colombia with a time of 8:22.69.
