Cuba reports 957 new Covid-19 cases and one death

Cuba on Saturday surpassed 900 positive Covid-19 cases, totaling 957 contagions, which represents an increase of 121 compared to Friday, and one death.

The number of patients admitted is 9,742, with 5,496 suspected cases, 16 under epidemiological surveillance and 3,780 confirmed patients (153 more than the previous day), according to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).

In addition, 908 were contacts of confirmed cases, 16 patients were infected abroad and in 33 cases the source of infection could not be determined.

Medical authorities granted 803 medical discharges among those who suffered from Covid-19 and with this, the recovery of nationals reached 1,074,013 (98.9 percent of all confirmed cases).

There are 3,780 patients in hospitals or at home, 3,753 with a stable clinical evolution, while 27 are being treated at intensive care units: six in a critical condition and 21 who are seriously ill.

Cuba has accumulates 1,086,361 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country on March 11, 2020, and the death toll rose to 8,509.
