especiales

The organizers of the first Baseball Americas Cup have decided to change the venue for the preliminary Group A, which includes Cuba, from Venezuela to Panama.
This last-minute change, published on the website of the continental baseball and softball confederation (WBSC Americas), means the entire tournament will now be held in the isthmus.
Venezuela was set to host a group completed by the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Mexico, Nicaragua, and the team from the largest island of the Antilles.
The official communication explains that "the schedule and the groups remain as planned, it will be played at the Mariano Rivera Stadium in La Chorrera and further details regarding Group A will be announced next week."
The text adds that there are also no changes to the tournament calendar, with the group phase scheduled to begin on November 13, the super round set to start on the 19th, and the medal games to be played on the 22nd of the same month.
The statement acknowledges that Venezuela made every logistical effort to host one of the groups in its country but does not provide reasons for the venue adjustment.
