Cuba: Garage or Boutique Sale?

For some time now, garage sales are becoming popular, especially on weekends.

Undoubtedly, they solve problems because since the offer is so constricted, there are not a few who stop by at these offers displayed in parks, doorways, and corridors, either on coat racks, on tables or benches, or on top of blankets and nylon bags.

The issue is that neither within that option – which is not fashion, but need – there are few sellers who put crazy prices on their merchandise, as if it were a boutique.

When asking one of these people how much for a sweater– obviously used but in good condition – after announcing a four-digit figure, he clarified as if he was supported by all the reason in the world: “it's a brand outfit”.

Hopefully no one will think of "going overboard" when reading these lines, because it would be canceling one of the few options available today for those who need and have nowhere or with what to meet certain needs, especially clothing and footwear.

The best thing would be for those second-hand sellers to be happy with only making logical profits from their second-hand sales, while solving a problem for another Cuban, without taking advantage of the shortcomings and forgetting that, eventually, they will be in their shoes next day, and they will still frown when they find out the price of sweet potatoes or chili peppers, even if they are not from a certain "brand".
