The purpose of the official visit of the Belarusian delegation to Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua was to open new pages in the history of cooperation with these countries, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the media after the visit, BelTA has learned.
“We do not rush into anything. We work thoughtfully, plan our actions and build relations primarily with the countries with which we are sharing some history. Somewhere it is more successful, and somewhere there are problems that need to be solved. Therefore, the purpose of our long visit to the countries of South and Central America was very simple - to fulfill the task set by the president, which is to open new pages in our history of cooperation with these countries,” the prime minister said.
According to Roman Golovchenko, the current situation in the world is complicated and it also affects Belarus' partners. “Therefore, we prepared an appropriate plan of work with each country. Today, summarizing the results, I can say, as head of the delegation, that these tasks have been solved, that we have achieved what we strived for,” he added.
The official visit of the prime minister of Belarus to Latin America ended on 20 July. Roman Golovchenko visited Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, where a number of agreements on cooperation were reached. In particular, Belarus and Venezuela outlined steps to restart joint projects in industry and other areas. Belarus and Nicaragua signed $85 million worth of contracts for the supply of over 700 units of machinery.
