Russia included the creation and launching of an interplanetary station to Venus in its space exploration project, Oleg Korablev, head of the Department of Planetary Physics at the Space Research Institute, informed.

The design of the said Venera-D automatic station is scheduled to begin in January 2026, simultaneously with the launching of the domestic project, Korablev told TASS this Sunday. His institution is attached to the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The scientist noted that the preliminary design will be developed over two years, while the mission’s launching date will be determined later. The deadline should be 2036, he said.

Korablev added that, according to plans, the Venera-D mission will include a lander, a balloon probe, and an orbital spacecraft. The launching is unlikely before 2034 or 2035.
