The Cuban company Acosta Danza continues to prepare the show Abriles, with which its young dancers will be on stage from Friday to Sunday.
The new season will take place at the Avellaneda hall of Havana’s National Theater and will have, as its main attraction, the performance of the new generation of the company, which consists of dancers who graduated from the Acosta Danza Academy, according to the company’s social networks.
The artists will perform, among other pieces, two well-known choreographies of company’s repertoire: ‘Mundo interpretado,’ (Interpreted World) by Brazilian Juliano Nunes; and ‘Hibrido’ (Hybrid), by Cuban creator Norge Cedeño.
Both choreographies address Cuba’s cultural universe, the richness of its rhythms, its concerns, hopes and joys, from different perspectives and styles, Acosta Danza announced on its Facebook profile.
In the international arena, Acosta Danza recently informed that it will perform at the Venice Biennial, Italy, an event dedicated to the performing arts and scheduled for June and July this year.
At the Biennial’s dance festival, where the company will represent Latin America, it will premiere the choreography “98 dias” (98 Days), by Venezuelan choreographer Javier de Frutos.
