Cuban pianist and composer Aldo Lopez-Gavilan are making a tour of the United States, which includes a presentation along with the award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, today at the Lincoln Center in New York.

The show 'Live from Lincoln Center: Joshua Bell's Seasons of Cuba' will host the performance of Aldo López-Gavilán also accompanied by the String Orchestra of Havana directed by Daiana Garcia.

Also, Cuban troubadour Carlos Varela will share the stage along with singer and guitarist Dave Matthews.

In this third round of concerts by the United States, the Cuban pianist is accompanied by the Harlem Quartet, a string quartet that has won a Grammy in 2013.

Cities like Gainesville, Tampa, Detroit, Washington, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills applauded the talent of the author of Memoirs of a Grandfather.

Last October 17, López-Gavilán had performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, where the Cuban's piano shook the room, according to The Washington Post.

Along with his creations Epilogue, Talking to the Universe, Eclipse and Bread With Timba, in this tour repertoire the author included pieces by U.S. pianists Chick Corea and Billy Strayhorn and Cuban composer Abelardito Valdes. López-Gavilán was born on December 20, 1979, in Havana, where he studied at conservatories Manuel Saumell and Amadeo Roldan. Later, he completed his training at the Academy of Music in London.

In 2000 he won the Cubadisco Prize with his first album 'In the Twilight of the Ant and the Elephant', which was later nominated for the Latin Grammys.
