China has expressed its support for the final declaration of the international conference on a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian conflict, issued following a meeting co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France at the United Nations.
Held on July 30, the conference aimed to strengthen global consensus around the implementation of a two-state solution.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, China supports the convening of high-level meetings within the UN framework to advance this cause. He praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia and France and welcomed the diplomatic momentum generated by the event.
Guo stated that the conference reinforced the international call for a political resolution based on the two-state framework.
During the meeting, Zhai Jun, China’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, urged immediate action to secure a comprehensive ceasefire and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
He called for adherence to the principle of “Palestinian governance of Palestinian affairs” and the strengthening of internal unity among the Palestinian people.
Zhai also emphasized the importance of supporting Palestine’s institutional capacity and economic resilience, reiterating that the two-state solution remains the only realistic path toward resolving the conflict.
China views the Palestinian issue as central to the broader Middle East conflict and reaffirmed its commitment to a fair, lasting, and comprehensive solution.
“China will continue working with the international community to help end the violence in Gaza, ease the humanitarian emergency, and promote the restoration of a viable political process,” Guo said.
The New York Declaration, issued at the conclusion of the conference, bolsters the global call to revive the two-state solution amid escalating tensions in Gaza.
