HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 19 (acn) Cuban Diva Omara Portuondo will give four concerts in the United States as part of her 85 Tour, with which she will celebrate seven decades of artistic career.

During the tour, which begins today at the Brooklyn Academy of Music of the city of New York, she will be accompanied by young pianist Roberto Fonseca, Israeli clarinetist and U.S. violinist Regina Carter, as announced by the interpreter on her Web site.

The other presentations have been scheduled for Friday, October 21, at the Chicago Symphony Center, at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium, in Cleveland, on the 23rd, and will end on October 28 at the Knight Concert Hall of Miami.
Portuondo began in June a tour of several European and Latin American countries as part of the 85 Tour, in honor of the birthday of the so-called Bride of Feeling (referring to the musical movement of that name, which emerged in the 1940s).
Recently, the interpreter was nominated to a Latin Grammy for her CD Canciones de Cri Cri El Grillo Cantor , in Best Album of Latin music for Children, recorded under the Bis Music label and produced by Jose Manuel Garcia, with 13 songs by Mexican Francisco Gabilondo.
The names of the winners of the 17th edition of the Latin Grammies will be announced on November 17 at the T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas, the United States.
