The 24th movie of the successful franchise and the fourth film featuring Daniel Craig in the role of secret agent 007, managed to surpass its predecessor, Skyfall, which made 20.1 million pounds sterling ($31.08 million) in its first seven days in 2012.
During the first day of its release, Spectre made 6.3 million pounds sterling ($9.7 million), a figure that also surpasses that obtained by Skyfall, 6.2 million pounds sterling ($9.59 million) in its first day on the big screen.
Spectre also broke the record so far held by “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” in 2004, which had a turnover of 23.8 million pounds sterling ($36.81 million) in its first week.
The latest Bond adventure, again directed by Sam Mendes, also features Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, and Monica Bellucci.
“We’re so grateful to all our James Bond fans,” producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said according to BBC.
