According to FMC national secretariat member Osmayda Hernandez, this Saturday’s meeting also put into context the scope of the action plan in this area to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
They also noted progress in the fulfillment of the seven areas of the government plan for the Advancement of Women, which includes economic empowerment, prevention, social communication and decision making.
The program also considers compliance with legislation and the rights of this population group, their sexual and reproductive health and participation in research, Hernandez pointed out.
After four years of implementing the Cuban government program for the Advancement of Women, the FMC appreciates results, challenges and new goals, said Anielka Fernandez, member of the organization’s secretariat at the country level.
