FM of Nigeria Thanks Cuba for Solidarity with his People

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama, expressed on Tuesday his gratitude for the island’s solidarity with his people.
The Nigerian FM, on an official visit to Cuba, placed a wreath by the plaque to his country’s independence heroes, located in this capital’s Park of African Heroes.
In statements to the press, the diplomat expressed the willingness to strengthen bonds of cooperation between Cuba and Nigeria, which he described as positive.
Onyeama admired Cuba’s help to that African nation in the health and technical education sectors and expressed the interest of expanding cooperation in the area of biotechnology.
Likewise, the Nigerian FM expressed the interest of strengthening the Bi-national Commission, an instrument that encompasses cooperation between the two countries, which established diplomatic relations in July, 1974.
Relations of cooperation between Cuba and that country of Western Africa are mainly in the sectors of education, health, trade, culture, sports and economy.
Hundreds of Nigerian students have graduated in Cuba in the spheres of medicine, education and physical education and sports.
