The International Youth Day will be widely celebrated in Cuba and Biran —place where the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, was born— is the chosen site to carry out the central ceremony.

About 400 young people from different provinces will attend the ceremony, which is intended to gather members of the current (UJC, Young Communist League), and those who were members of such organization in the past.

Several activities will be held as well. They are: spontaneous blood donation, productive works, a cultural gala, and different live concerts from Holguin´s artists.

The young people attending this festivity will celebrate Fidel Castro´s 89 birthday as well.

In a world of misery, violence, and exclusion, Cuban youth has enough reasons to feel happiness, confirmed Roberto Conde, member of the National Bureau of the UJC.

We will honor every justice conquered by the Revolution. And our commitment with history, the present and future of Cuba will be expressed.

Today's activities include the launching of the book "Razones para luchar y vencer" (Reasons to Fight and Win), by Editora Abril publishing house, and, a concert at the Jose Marti Anti-Imperialist Tribunal in Havana tonight, to celebrate the International Youth Day and to receive August 13, date of Fidel Castro's birthday.
