Cuban Women Federation Greets ANC Women''s League

The Cuban Women Federation (FMC) expressed appreciation and respect towards South African women for their decisive contribution in the struggle against Apartheid, rascism and exploitation. In a message received in Prensa Latina, the organization also praised the participation of women in the second phase of the Democratic Revolution leads by African National Congress (ANC).
The text, signed by Teresa Amarelles, general secretary of the FMC is within the framework of the recent celebration of the 12th Conference of the ANC Women's League, in session from August 5 to 8.

The message of the FMC also welcomes the presence of South African women in 'the leading posts of the National Parliament, 14 seats of ministers and 16 deputy ministers of the current Cabinet and in the leadership of the African Union', among others.
Finally, the women's group expressed gratitude to the League for the extraordinary enthusiasm with which have denounced 'the harsh economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the US government for over 50 years. "
At the same time-noted the FMC-, we highlighted that the campaigns for the return of the Cuban Five Anti-terrorists, after long years in prison in US jails.
