Diaz-Canel beloved by the people of Granma
especiales
On Wednesday, in the downtown of Manzanillo and Bayamo, thousands of citizens met and followed him during his tour. Some of these images were recorded by cell phones and TV cameras.
Several people said full of joy: “You can count on us.” One of these citizens, recently graduated from Agronomy, was Daniel Alvarez Vazquez. He said we will do his best wherever the Revolution needs him to work as his commitment with the historical and present leadership of the Revolution.
Children, teenagers, young and older people walked to the places he was and asked him to take a picture with them, to which he agreed.
Diaz-Canel exchanged viewpoints with students and pointed out that visiting Granma was very nice, as this province is great due to its history and development socially and economically, despite current challenges.
The citizens are easygoing, lovely. They show love and endless loyalty to the Revolution. It extols, moves you, and makes you work harder.
He added that being in Manzanillo, municipality full of history, culture and national identity, as well as Bayamo and Yara, is encouraging.
He recalled the glorious burning of Bayamo in 1869 as an indisputable sign of patriotism and firm resolution to conquer freedom.
During his visit, Diaz-Canel toured different places of historical, social, and economical symbolism like the National Monument La Demajagua, the crocodile breeding facility, and the battery factory in Manzanillo.
He also exchanged views with the workers of the credit and service cooperative VIII Congreso Campesino in Yara. This cooperative is specialized in rice harvesting, although other productions such as milk, beans, and corn are also harvested.
In Bayamo, the Cuban president toured the dairy farming enterprise, a work of water resources, and a plastic factory where different sort of containers are made. Diaz-Canel also visited the Cespedes movie theater, the provincial Library 1868, the Dulce Palace, and the headquarters of UNEAC in Granma.
He will continue touring the province today. He will attend the flag ceremony.
Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party and First Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers, is also visiting the Eastern province.
