Eastern Cuba is full of color and possibilities for those who spend their holidays in an active way, when one of those places that almost shocks Europeans, including many Spaniards, is Cayo Saetía, tourist guides say.

Cayo Saetía (also Sae-Tia) is an islet with an area of 42 square kilometers and a beautiful landscape in Holguín, where holidaymakers arrive excursions on catamarans in a journey that lasts two hours.

The key is 120 kilometers southeast of Holguin, between the Bay of Nipe and the Atlantic Ocean, but its beaches and the variety of vegetation create the delights of the most demanding tourists.

Under the auspices of Grupo Gaviota, Cayo Saetía can be visited in search of pristine beaches and the possibility of taking a jeep or truck tour to watch its wildlife, including deer, buffalos and even some ostriches.

At the same time, the food is excellent at a beach thathc-roof restaurant that welcomes those who spend a day there, while enjoying nature.

Tourists arrive from the eastern city of Baracoa in the province of Guantánamo, on one-day trips.
