U.S. Tour Operators Strongly Reject Alerts on Cuba

The U.S. association of tour operators Respect (Responsible Ethical Cuba Travel) has today rejected the alert issued by Donald Trump´s administration on trips to Cuba for safety and health reasons.
According to Bob Guild, Respect co-coordinator, it is about a statement with no evidence that will affect the cultural and academic ties between both nations.
Likewise, he said that after the terror attacks carried out in some cities such as London, Paris or Barcelona, Washington did not issue any 'security alert' for U.S. tourists, so it is surprising that it is now pronouncing around the Caribbean nation.
Cuba is one of the safest places in the world to travel, even for U.S. visitors, he said.
Guild said that during Respect's trip to the Caribbean island they met with different local institutions, as well as with some Civil Defense authorities with whom they exchanged about the state of Cuba's recovery after the devastating Hurricane Irma´s path.
He also said that Cuba is 'more than ready' to welcome foreign visitors and urge travelers from all over the world to visit this Caribbean nation.
Respect is a 150-member U.S. professional association that brings together non-profit organizations, travel agencies, tour operators and service providers for the promotion and practice of ethically and socially responsible travel to Cuba.
Such a project considers that the opportunity to visit Cuba is a step to foster mutual understanding and knowledge through first-hand exchanges based on respect.
