Nicolás Maduro: Venezuelan Parliament Turns its Back to the Country

Caracas, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro today said that the National Assembly has turned its back to the country and breached its responsibilities.

On his program Contact Maduro, from this capital, the leader stressed that Parliament has ignored all its promises and does not serve national interests.However, its actions favor foreign interference and affect the image the country abroad.

During this program, broadcasted by Venezolana deTelevision, he declared that the right-wing deputies, who belong mainly to the opposition coalition Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD, in Spanish) have given a demonstration of irresponsibility and turned the National Assembly into an entity useless to national interests.

He also stated the revolutionary forces work to regain the majority in the legislature to deal with this situation.

The president pointed out that the only option that the Venezuelan people have is to progress in the social development of the nation is to comply and to demand the enforment of the guidelines of the Constitution.

'We do not accept anything or anyone's interference with the peaceful constitutional development of our country' he declared.

He also stressed the social consciousness of Venezuelans in the decision making for the construction of the country.
