Ramallah, August 26 (Prensa Latina) Israeli warplanes bombed the city of Beit Lahia, in the north of the besieged Gaza Strip, local authorities said.

Officials confirmed that F-16 aircraft attacked a site near the village of Um Nuseir, north of Beit Lahia, completely destroying the site and causing damage to nearby civilian homes, although no casualties were reported.

The Israeli Army said the operation was carried out in retaliation for rockets fired the day before from Gaza into southern Israel.

The Palestinian Authority further reported that Israeli warplanes bombed a site belonging to a Palestinian organization in Lebanon, near the Syrian border.

Israeli warplanes carried out the attack on the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Front - General Command (PFLP-GC) in the city of Qusaya in eastern Lebanon.
