Washington announced Tuesday it will once again withdraw from the United Nations' educational, scientific, and cultural agency, citing what the U.S. government describes as anti-Israel bias, merely two years after rejoining the organization.
This marks the third U.S. departure from Paris-based UNESCO and the second under a Trump administration.
President Donald Trump previously withdrew during his first term, and the U.S. returned after a five-year absence when the Biden administration sought readmission.
The decision will take effect at the end of December 2026.
