About 55 competitors from Argentina, Canada, Chile, China, Slovakia, Finland, Japan, Paraguay, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Uruguay will participate, confirmed the Brazilian Confederation of Aquatic Sports (CBDA).
The hosts, meanwhile, will have a contingent of 356 competitors representing 58 clubs, as at the same time, the national championship in the discipline will be held, so this would be the last chance to get an Olympic ticket.
Among the confirmed guests is the champion in the 100 freestyle at the Pan Am Toronto-2015, Argentine Federico Grabich, also winner of the bronze medal in the distance at the World Championships Kazan 2015.
Other recognized names are Argentinean Naidich Martin, former record holder in the 1,500m freestyle; from Finland, Ari-Pekka Liukkone, third in the 50m freestyle European Championships in Berlin 2014, while Canada will be represented among others by Pan American runner-up and world bronze medalist Santo Condorelli.
