Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt, announced that he will be taking part in a race on the anniversary of the 2012 London Olympic Games before defending his titles in Rio de Janeiro in August. "The anniversary of the London Games will be my last race before the Olympic Games in Rio," Bolt said in a statement. The Jamaican, a six time Olympic gold medalist will participate in a race of the Diamond League on July 22nd at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

"It will be good to return to the Olympic Stadium on Friday night and live more of that special atmosphere that fans always produce. I've always been very well supported in Great Britain and I hope that the stadium will be filled," added the Caribbean, who is holder of the world record in the 100 and 200 meters.

Bolt, 29 years old, has not competed in an official race since August 29th last year, when he ran in the World Cup of Athletics in Beijing.

Although he planned to participate in the Diamond League in 2015 in Brussels, he withdrew from the competition because of an injury in his left leg.

The best sprinter in history did not confirm if his calendar has any other commitments before the London Diamond League stop.

The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the first that will be held in Latin America, will start on August 5th.
