The 56 Cuban athletes who will compete in the V Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games were dismissed today in Havana with the conviction victorious return to their homeland.

At Terminal 3 of José Martí International Airport, authorities of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), ratified confidence in athletes, as published by the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

Tomas Herrera, president of the National Commission for Assistance to Athletes, urged members of the Antillean delegation to raise to higher levels of discipline and maintain unity in the venue.

"You will be ambassadors of the Revolution in sport, we are convinced that they will return laden with medals and with the pride of having made the maximum effort in every competition," he added.

Cuba will be represented at the meeting in Toronto with several exponents recognized worldwide, among which sprinter Yunidis Castillo, multiple Paralympic athletics champion and record holder of the world.

The Caribbean island will compete in eight disciplines and will fight for 71 medals of the 393 sets of medals contested seats, while the fourth attempt to keep Guadalajara 2011.
