Cuba to discuss gold medal in CAC Baseball Veracruz 2014

Cuban baseball team advanced to the gold medal discussion by defeating the Dominican Republic 6x3.

(Norge Luis) Ruiz, who was shaky in the early stage of the game —when he allowed the first two runs of the game in the second and third innings— put himself of the right track and dominated opposed hitters. Cuba’s 4^th run came with a walk with the bases loaded. Alex Malleta hit a two-RBI homer in the final innings of the game.

The Havana native was one of the best players of the game, (2-2, 2 walks, 2R, 2 RBIs).

The final lines was Cuba 6 runs, 10 hits, and 1 error, while Dominican scored 3 runs, 6 hits, and also made 1 error.

Ruiz took the Win, his second in the tournament while reliever Wilson Eusebio took the Loss. He allowed 2 Runs in one-third of an inning.

LHP Cionel Perez and RHP Hector M. Mendoza also worked for Cuba. Closer Mendoza came in the 9^th inning after Dominican players threatened after a HR off Norge Luis Ruiz, overused by Cuban manager.

Cuba’s opposite team in the final game will be Nicaragua.
