Fidel and the Portuguese leader talked about several topics on the international arena and on the relationships of friendship between both nations covering the agenda in the visit of the Portuguese leader to Cuba.
On Wednesday afternoon, Fidel and the Portuguese President, his Excellency Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, held a friendly meeting.
They talked about the different topics on the international arena and on the relationships of friendship between both nations covering the agenda in the visit of the Portuguese leader to Cuba.
Rebelo de Sousa spoke about the voting results at the United Nations against the economic, commercial and financial blockade established by the United States against Cuba, the position of his country that condemns that extraterritorial practice rejected worldwide.
On the other hand Fidel thanked Portugal’s position towards our Homeland, highlighting the strength of our people willing to remember the considerable human and economic damages caused by the blockade, while he reiterated the brutal and inhuman nature of the blockade. A blockade the Cuban people will never accept.
