Vietnam urges Russia and Ukraine to resume dialogue

Hanoi, Oct 6 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam urged the governments of Russia and Ukraine to resume dialogue and resolve the ongoing crisis by peaceful means.

The solution to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict must be based on the basic principles of international law, especially respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said.

As an active and responsible member of the international community, Vietnam is willing to contribute to the process of dialogue and search for solutions aimed at stabilizing the situation in the region and the world, in pursuit of peace and stability, the spokeswoman said at a press conference.

The spokeswoman responded to questions on the referendums held in the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhie, which resulted in the incorporation of these four territories into the Russian Federation.
