The European Union approved on Monday new coercive measures against Venezuela, adding 19 people to its list of sanctioned individuals, in response to the legislative elections on December 6, which the EU considered illegitimate and lacking in guarantees.
'Those erratic decisions also reveal the inability of the European bloc to attend to, respect and accept the will of the Venezuelan people, and once again unfold its anachronistic interventionist and interfering policy towards Venezuela,' the statement referred.
Likewise, the government pointed out this illegal action as an affront to the United Nations, which, through its special rapporteur on coercive measures, demanded the lifting of the known sanctions.
