'Venezuela observes with concern the evident misrepresentation made by this group of representatives of the special procedures, in view of the judicial inquiries made to the NGO, after detecting the transfer of resources in foreign currency under a financial modality not authorized, nor contemplated in the Venezuelan laws,' refers a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.
The text also states that as in any judicial process within the country, the officials involved in that case have the full guarantee of due process and the right to defense.
It deems as interference the statements of the experts, which it considers biased and contrary to the principles established in United Nations resolution 46/182, on the respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and the need to have the consent of the States in the exercise of humanitarian work.
'Venezuela denounces those interfering and decontextualized statements, which seek to manipulate international public opinion, to cloud the country's cooperation with the United Nations System, including the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and which in no way contribute to the strengthening of humanitarian action,' the communiqué concludes.
